Biopsychosocial model - we now accept that the mind and body interact in myriad important ways for health and well-being. Chronic stress leads to disease and death. Purpose of the stress system : fight or flight. Suggests that stress is our default mode of functioning, in the absence of perceived. Generalized unsafety theory of stress : guts safety, we must be prepared for action. When fundamental need to belong goes unmet. Bc of compromised social network = stress.
