The result is a moral, political, economic and genetic burden on society that appeared likely to only get worse. Therefore, eugenicists wanted to replace a suspended system of natural selection with a scientifically researched and managed system of eugenics selection. They likened eugenics to controlled animal breeding. This vision took many different forms, but they were all sought to use genetic science to solve this perceived problem.
