Excess vanilla causes prices to drop and other countries to stop growing vanilla. 2013 - major hurricane destroy mexican vanilla orchid plants. Madagascar in turmoil after poor crop in 2015. Percolation - chopped beans and alcohol under a vacuum for 48-73 hours. Maceration - finely ground beans and alcohol under vacuum for 8-9 days. Mixed with glycerol, propylene glycol, sugar or corn syrup.
