Deviance: a term that can refer to: acts or behaviors, traits- individuals, groups- types of traits can be, physical/biological, mental/emotional/psychological, social/aesthetic, conditions, people or groups. Emile durkheim: durkheim distinguishes between to orders of facts: Normal phenomena: facts that are common to most individuals (seen as entirely appropriate) are referred to as normal. Yet there is no objective criterion to distinguish sickness from health in social phenomena. Health can"t be applied in exactly the same way for each person. It has to be established for the most common circumstances. (which everyone deviates from to some extent).
