Idea principles: zero reject, no child is excluded regardless of anything, nondiscriminatory evaluation, use universal examples, etc, free, appropriate education, least restrictive environment, due process, parents have recourse- can have a meeting to resolve, family and student involvement. High school student with disabilities not attending classes. School tries to expel her for this behavior. Court rules that expulsion would deny student f. a. p. e. Families of 5 students with severe disabilities claimed their children regressed during long breaks. Court agreed and began esy- extended school year.
