Aspiration pneumonitis - most serious and potentially life-threatening complications; assess for lung sounds, coughing, oxygen saturation; contents of the tube enter the lungs via the gi tract. Diarrhea - common complication; can be from rapid infusion, contamination of the formula, low-fiber formulas, tube movement, various medications. Dehydration - schedule extra water in; common complication.
