Membership provides opportunities for the group to influence members explicitly. Membership can be associated with objective political interests . Members share issues of concern and public policy outcomes. Most people don"t hold well defined opinions on every political issue. Sometimes they rely on the influence of others. Politically knowledgeable citizens are more likely to rely on ideology. Evaluate new information and determine whether it is consistent with their existing ideological beliefs. They can recognize their political interests and act on them consistently.
