In the aftermath of the publicity about the book, congress began passing laws requiring safety equipment in cars. Gov starts releasing info about nicotine brands. New laws sought to constrain tobacco use. Later, more specific labels were put on cig packets. Graphic labels were proposed by fda showing dangers of things that can happen from cigs.
