Some positions can prevent delivery and may require veterinary assistance. Others can be delivered with help from the owner, not necessarily a veterinarian: types of dystocia: Posterior presentation soles are upwards and the foal is backwards, must be delivered quickly. One foreleg retained try to push the head back in and pull the other leg out first. Head or neck pushed back get a veterinarian"s help. Sitting dog position head is in front of the legs, you can try to reposition but may need a caesarian section.
