The department of biomedical engineering at the university of florida is made possible by the vision and generosity of dr. j. crayton pruitt and his family. Also known as tissue engineering, the idea is to supplement the body"s limitation in regrowth and reconstruction. One of the purposes is to reduce or eliminate permanent scaring to improve the function of the tissue.
