A constitutional monarchy meaning it has a monarchy and a constitution that outlines the laws. Power of the british monarchy has shifted in recent years so that the feelings have shifted as well. Additionally, the england is one of few countries that still keeps a monarchy. Today the monarch is basically a figurehead. In 500 years it has gone from being the most powerful institution in the nation to a figurehead to draw tourists. We had a revolution to get rid of the british monarch and we even renounced the idea of having a monarch.
