Thoreau from new england, author and poet. Leading figure in transcendentalist movement, the human connection with nature is necessary for intellectual and moral stability. He lived in connection with nature for 2 years. That government is best which governs least - Where i lived and what i lived for, walden, henry thoreau: our life is fritted away in details - he was talking about the fact that we as humans live in simplicity. We are wasting our lives doing nothing with it. He went out to the woods to make sure that he had lived life to the fullest: 1845 when he started going to the woods to observe nature. He wanted to front the essential facts of life and see if he could not learn what it had to teach. It happened to be the fourth of july: concord the battle ground of american revolution. He went to the concord to be himself and be peaceful.
