Decision making as a component of problem solving: intelligence (decision making) problem solving, design (decision making) problem solving, choice (decision making) problem solving, implementation problem solving, monitoring problem solving. Every level of goals you go after is decision making. Decision making in the news: with crouching tiger sequel, netflix takes aim at hollywood. Limited in buyers so have to get around model of giving up majority of your profits. Netflix partnering with weinstein and imax for sequel. Emotional, impulsive, and prone to form/ follow habits. Curse of knowledge (better) informed people find it harder to think about problems from the perspective of lesser- informed people. Decisions in management functions: planning, leading, organizing, controlling, want to have diferent alternatives, what will work best, variance etc. Assumes managers will make a logical decision that will be in the best interest of the organization.
