This paper will analysis the proofs of god"s existence, specifically the trademark. Argument, provided by descartes" meditation iii: now, descartes" idea of god includes all the perfections (including omnipotence, omniscience and perfect goodness). Whatever has caused this idea must have an equal or greater amount of intentional reality as a formal or eminent cause. Therefore, since it is true that descartes has the idea of god, it can only have been caused by god. Thus god, the sum of all perfections, exists. As a part of his beneficence he has placed this idea in descartes" mind so that reflection will always reassure that he is with him. Overview: rene descartes published his mediations in order to reveal the foundation of knowledge and truth. His journey sets forth to reveal all things he knows with absolute certain truth and dismiss those thoughts that prevail any doubt.
