Share how you got started in lighting design. Worked in the midwest, pennsylvania all those places over the country. Trying to mimic natural light with electric light. By learning how color and angles and lights behave. What does the director music and actor want to convey. A trip, photograph, or maybe even just an open mind. Everything starts black and then you start lighting things for how you want to see them. Layout a schematic plan as to how this is going to work. Gets laid out, organized, colors and plugged in. Lighting is the glue that holds everything together. Make all the other designers creative intensions and stuff and then add their own emotional context to the work. Average designer is making 200-300 thousand decisions before we see the curtain go up. Where do u think the changes are in the play. Love for technology and ideas and creative side.
