(in the united states) There is very little genetic variation within our species. Race is continuous and cannot be used to categorize people into groups. The human species is connected by gene flow. Race as a worldview: a culturally structured, systematic way of looking at, perceiving, and interpreting reality. Race in north america: people are naturally divided into a few biological groups. Races are discrete, exclusive, permanent, and relatively homogenous.
