Contains 75% of biodiversity, ecosystem services (flood prevention, air quality, etc. ) 3. 4 billion cubic meters of wood per year (53% fuel, 31% building materials, 16% paper) Non wood commodities (cork, maple syrup, nuts, fruit, mushrooms, pharmaceuticals) Deforestation: causes- agriculture for crops and grazing, paper demand is high and we need wood for fuel and other things. Nephin bed mountains: 1600-1800 trees were all cut down.
