Development 1st stage, what the project is going to be. Hiring a cast and crew (contracts laid out) Pre-production wardrobe set design, locations to film at, all hashed out. Post production folder of electronic files shooting, dish it over to editor, and they start to assemble. Crew: behind camera (director, producer, camera operator) *focusing on the most* Above the line: managerial roles; negotiated compensation (% of gross of net) manage area of the process (top level) Below the line: production roles; contractual compensation (paid x amount of dollars not % of gross) building sets, electric, etc. Originated the project not part of production crew. Connects with producer to get it financed once script written, writers step out of it. Rarely is a writer on set to try to help direct they are done. Not on set telling actors where tog o and what not. Arranges for distribution to studios and see if they can get the film shown.
