Key population indicators are directly related to economic indicators. Demography- the study of characteristic of human population. 95% of the population lives on 10% of the land. >the government: authorized to count people, want to know who"s there and their characteristics. Census is polled every 10 years since 1790 and asks basic questions. Main purpose of the census is to redistrict and resource distribution. Census hires people to try and count homeless people. Upper income white groups are often over counted. >this is because of college students, owning multiple homes. Population geography is concerned with a variety of aspects of a population. There are distinct patterns in global population geographies. Government generate massive amounts of date about their populations (census, vital records, surveys)
