More developed country (mdc) or developed country is one with a high level of industrialization, urbanization, & a high standard of living. Examples include the usa, most of europe, japan, etc. Developing country (dc) is a country that ranks between a mdc & a ldc, but is progressing toward being a mdc. China is put in this category even though they now have the 2nd strongest economy after the us. * some of these are also known as newly industrializing. Countries (nics) because of their higher level of industrialization. Less developed country (ldc) or underdeveloped country is one with a low level of industrialization (if any), poorly structured urbanization, & low standard of living.
