Intersectionality overlapping characteristics/parts of us and how they attack us as we move across spaces. Ascriptive identity groups are voluntary to join, but some groups are exclusive. Ascriptive identity born with certain characteristics that aren"t easily changeable; to claim something that belongs to you. Ascriptive identity claims that a particular identity is optional, but can belong to me identities that you"re born with and aren"t easily changed. Identity is something you can choose, but there are limitations to what you can change. You can choose different parts of you at different times to benefit you politically, socially, economically and environmentally.
