Thoroughness vs rambling: be as thorough in your scratch work/explanation as possible. Since we don"t have oral exams, your paper will hvae to do the talking for you. Exams are all about showing (on paper) what you know and how much you"ve retained. A good example of thoroughness can be seen in my quiz write ups. You don"t have to list the explanations of your steps, but your work should be similar to what i have. On that same note, do not throw extra words in your explanations in hope that something will stick.
