Home as site of creativity and resistance. Defined place and location defines me; makes world me and myself me. If building is world - still a man"s world. Women are not involved in world: building does establish world, but preservation is an equally valuable activity that most accompanies world - buildings keeps world in place which allows change. In a patriarchal society, men establish lost world through women. Woman"s role is to be the home by being at home. Constructive of what the home is; presupposed. Not only to dwell but to make appearances. Home itself is a prison for women - the house needs to be constantly clean. They maintain the bare existence of life. Housework is not the way - not just woman"s job. Things in home carry personal meanings and narratives. Things are arranged to reflect activities and lives in home. Stories are told / retold / listened to again and again.
