Acutely ill- short term of being ill. (dog"s stomach: acutely means short term, acute comes from acus, meaning needle, acute: sharp, in pathology, short frame, acute pain- very sharp pain. Chronically ill: chronic is long term, cats go through chronic renal failure. Picture is of a cat kidney that is going through renal failure. Chronic: (chronos means time) chronic things take time to devlop: chronology, synchronous, chronicle. Diagnosis: through symptoms. (knowing symptoms lets us know what"s going on: prefix: dia- means through, root: gnosis- knowledge or known, examples: dialogue (logue- speech), diameter (measure through), diagonal (between or through angles). Prognosis is what eh medical team thinks will be the outcome. Etiology: cause of the disease. (the science, treatise of cause: hematology, cytology, looking at blood, babesia canis, etio- cause***need to memorize. Gastric: gastric ulcers will cause a gross amount of hemorrhaged & will kill pigs. Idio: one"s own, private, peculiar; a person keeps to themselves.
