(bacterial, distribution: cranioventral (affected at cranial and ventral areas) 2nd type of pneumonia: interstitial pneumonia: can get everywhere in the lungs & affects the alveolar walls, distribution: diffuse (gets everywhere, usually viral (comes through blood or airborne, chemicals, etc. ) 3rd type of pneumonia: canine distemper pneumonia: distemper (generic term, dis means: not, abnormal, wrong, temper means: your enthusiasm (means balance, distemper basically means sickness, illness, caused by a morbillivirus. *felines have a distemper virus that"s a parvovirus. *horses have distemper that is caused by bacteria. Distribution patterns: diffuse, multifocal, disseminated (wide spread, but still a multifocal pattern, specifically: cranioventral; generically focused. Things that can be in the thoracic cavity: fluid: hydrothorax, blood: hemothorax, pus: pyothorax, air: pneumothorax, leukocyte-rich fluid: chylothorax.
