Soft in appearance, calming, soothing, serene, dreamlike. Hazy and blurred, like a dream, a recollection of a memory. Depth is created by the overlapping plains and tucked in mountains implying distance and depth. The soft hues of the sky suggests that this may be a scene at sunrise or sunset. Overall scene has a still likeness to it. Design principles (organizes elements into an overall design or composition) Established through the static element of pure daubs of color used throughout the entire piece. To create the shimmering reflection glinting off of the pine needles, grass, and sea, signac strategically places bright daubs of color at the ends of the darker colors to fashion a contrast between the colors. This contrast darkens the previous color and develops the image of morning dew.
