Test 4 page 1: laterization, aridosols, mollisols, calcification, alfisols. Leaching process in humid and warm climates. Leaches solubles and silica from a horizon. Accumulate ca and mg carbonates in b and c. Clay particles accumulate in subsurface so fertile. Leached bases transported downward and lost to groundwater system. Young soil where parent material deposited by volcanoes. Large amt clay, soil expansion, and contraction.
