Document Summary

Large oceanic circulations that are driveway by winds ow out of the subtropical heights air pressure cells (which are anticyclone ). Because they are driven by these anticyclones, their ow is anticyclonic, that is clockwise in the northern hemisphere and counterclockwise in the southern. Greenland-it is at high school school parallel , on a land mass , at high altitude (top of the glass crown is about deuce land mile above sea level). Siberia is cold for similar intellect , except the elevation is not high. Downwelling of open ocean h2o that results where low temperature and/or high saltiness increase the water"s density so much that it cannot remain on the surface and therefore sink to deeper ocean spirit level . This water circulates slowly through the deep ocean over grand twelvemonth or so before upwelling cover to the surface.
