ANSC 207 Lecture 3: week 3 discussion question
Document Summary
There are a wide range of postures for cats for different moods. A cat that wants to threaten someone will try to make their body look bigger and have good posture. A defensive mood, their distance will increase and they will crouch. A fearful mood, their feet will tuck under. A greeting posture will be tail up and distance reducing when wanting to socialize. Defensive aggressive is when a dog tries to scare off a predator. Their posture will be pupils dilated, ears pinned back, weight on back legs, teeth exposed with their tail down. An offensive aggressive is when a dog is trying to fight off something. Their posture will be ears forward, eyes wide, teeth snarling, raised tail, and weight forward: the three play behaviors are exploratory, social and object. Exploratory is when a kitten is first introduced to their environment and learn how to jump and have fun.
