Competitive sport emphasizing teamwork between a dog and his handler. Ability to successfully navigate through an obstacle course. Move through all obstacles correctly and in the proper order. A mistake is known as a fault. And it"s not just for dogs! (rabbits and cats) For small terriers historically bred to hunt game in small tunnels. Find rat in cage with sense of smell. Relay race over hurdles with a box at each end. Hurdles must accommodate the smallest dog on the team. Competition where handler and dog are scored for their ability to throw and catch flying discs. An example: wallace: was set to be euthanized because of his breed and high energy. Two volunteers took him in to save his life. Became a world champion disc dog and breed ambassador.
