All encounters are opportunities for expanding and diversifying your network. Know what value you bring to the network. Track frequency of appointments with people of potential value to you and/or your business. Set aside time for activities that broaden your network. Be prepared, do your homework, learn about the other person. Write thank-you notes, forward clippings, make invitations. Use your strong ties to help you break into new circles.
