Math 125 - lecture 6 - reduced row echelon form (rref) A matrix in ref with the added criterion that every entry above a leading 1 is 0. Example: the superball company makes volleyballs (vb), basketballs (bb), and water polo balls (wpb). Vb requires 4oz of latex, 1oz of nylon, and 2oz of vinyl. Bb requires 7oz of latex, 2ox of nylon, and 5oz of vinyl. Wpb requires 2oz of latex, 1oz of nylon, and 5oz of vinyl. Factory a produces 325oz latex, 100oz nylon, and 300oz vinyl. Factory b produces 400oz latex, 150oz nylon, and 600oz vinyl. The factories are going out of business. Find an order of balls so that they use exactly all the materials in stock. We must use separate calculations for each factory. Multisystem: a collection of linear systems with the same coefficient matrix but with different right hand sides (rhs)
