Generic conventions: properties or features that identify a genre. Generic formula: patterns for developing stories in a particular genre; can be arranged in a standard way or in a variation. Generic expectations: viewers experience and knowledge while watching a text that helps to anticipate the meaning of specific conventions or directions of narrative formula. Genre hybridity: cross between two or more genres to produce a new genre form.
