Two main centers of khmer populations outside of cambodia: america (california, illinois, massachusetts, mainly, france, moved out due to the khmer rouge, moved to refugee camps in thailand then moved to other countries. Traditionally khmer were lowland wet rice farmers: large proportion of population maintain this practice. Houses typically rectangular stilt houses: made of wood and bamboo.
