Women more likely to value status in a mate, men more likely to value attraction. Attractive women are more likely to marry financially/ professionally successful men. Love 7 attraction are functions of ability to propagate genes (buss 1988,1989,1990). Men prefer younger partners and say appearance is important. Women"s economic resources and their preference for a physically attractive man (gangestad, 1993). *attachment style originates from relationship with primary caregiver (working models) Translates to how individuals act in romantic relationships. Secure: easy to get close to others, no worrying about abandonment. Anxious/ambivalent: seek intimacy but worry that others won"t reciprocate or stay.
