Document Summary
Declarative memory(explicit memory)- is knowledge to which we have conscious access, including personal and world knowledge. Broken down into episodic memory and semantic memory. Episodic memory- the recall of events in our lives. Procedural memory- is one form of non declarative memory that involves the learning of a variety of motor skill such as how to ride a bike and cognitive skills such as learning to read. Perceptual representation system (prs)- acts within the perceptual system. in the. Prs the structure and form of objects and words can be primed by prior experience. Classical conditioning- a conditioned stimulus is paired with an unconditioned stimulus. Following this pairing the conditioned stimulus can evoke a conditioned response similar to that typically evoked by the unconditioned stimulus. Habituation, sensitization- habituation is the decrease in a response with repeated presentations of the stimulus. Sensitization is the increase in a response with repeated presentations of the stimulus.
