Church of antioch : first home of christianity. Church of alexandria : largest church, very educated. Asked them to surrender their scriptures and their roman citizenship status. Some christians ran from this and just accepted it. In 305 diocletian retires, persecution of christians was not regular, more in the east than the west (it was ineffective).
