A myth is a popular belief or tradition that is of only imaginary or unverifiable truth that serves to tell the worldview of a given group of people who hold the belief. Yes, it"s also a traditional story, but that"s not what we"re talking about. Ex: the wild west was super violent and everybody fought for land and respect on a daily basis. Actually, bank robberies, murders, and pistol duels were very uncommon. So there"s a little truth, but not a lot. A stereotype is a simplified conception that carries special meaning and is held in common by members of a group. The conception is usually negative, but can be positive . People often say/believe fully that appalachia (and its language) is: Homogeneous is an adjective that means of the same kind or essentially alike. Ex: if you had only blue m&ms on the table, you would have a homogeneous set of m&ms. In other words, everything is the same.
