One way us maintained unity is because it is cooking together its society out of diversity especially in immigrants. 2 members of family fight in same ideological playground rather than the diversity seen in other republics around the world. Second permanent feature of american political culture is the belief in equality. Individuals should be able to pursue their own goals. It"s (cid:374)ot a (cid:271)elief i(cid:374) the (cid:395)uality of out(cid:272)o(cid:373)es, it"s the (cid:271)elief that e(cid:448)e(cid:396)y(cid:271)ody ought to ha(cid:448)e equal ability to pursue happiness, opportunity, schools, defense in rights. Less likely to believe that government should actively work to: provide for unemployed, reduce economic inequalitites, guarantee people a certain income. Optimistic about chances of (cid:862)getti(cid:374)g ahead(cid:863: compared to citizens of other advanced countries, across ethnic groups and income levels. (and think that it is partly their fault) No religion shown stars that represent states and colors that represent ideals: mount rushmore. Not a workmanship or race: statue of liberty.
