Physiological: need to satisfy basic needs: food, water, shelter, warmth. Safety: need to feel safe, secure, and stable: security, stability, and freedom from fear. Love/belonging: need to love and be loved and feel accepted: friends, family, spouse, lover. Esteem: need for self-esteem, achievement, competence and independence: recognition, respect and achievement mastery. Self-actualization: need to live up to one"s fullest unique potential: pursue inner talent, creativity and fulfillment. We are always motivated to reach self-actualization.
