Censorship: the limits of historical icion for children. The watsons go to birmingham 1963, moifs: the narraion: childhood innocence and imaginaion, the role of family, humor- the weird watsons, siblings and sibling order, parental authority, the paternal role, peer relaionships, stories and storytelling, magic. Magic is divided, and associated with both with stripping away child agency and graning the child agency: represening death and violence. Escalaion of violence from small acts to larger acts like the church bombings: the voyage narraive and development (a bildungsroman?) Each watson child is posiioned as a savior in a diferent way.
