Biogeochemical cycles: water, carbon, nitrogen and phosphorous it is a pathway by which a chemical substance moves through both biotic and the abiotic atmosphere. Species: a population or group of populations whose members share characteristics and can breed with one another to produce fertile offspring. Ecosystem: the study of the relationships between organisms and their environment, both living and non-living. Trophic level: energy from food passes on from one organism to another and the links between these levels are called trophic levels . Ecological niche: an organisms use of resources and functional role in community: habitat use, food selection, role in energy and nutrient flow, interactions with others: specialist vs generalists.
