In the mouse, you see a lot of new neurons in the olfactory bulb and between the olfactory bulb and ventricle. A better experiment is to use virus labeled cells. The adult mouse was injected with the retrovirus and you can see new neurons being generated in the hippocampus. To see this occur, the mouse had to be in a rich environment and exercise in every day (happens with certain strains of mice) slide 4. There are two main zones in mice where neurogenesis occurs in adults.
