Wartime destruction and the reparations produced continuing economic problems. Inflation got out of control as the government printed vast sums of money to pay back reparations. The great depression hit germany hard and the people became unhappy with the governments inability to deal with the crisis. The nazi"s rose in popularity and in a final attempt to restore political power, germany"s president appointed adolf.
