A bit more than are researchers/academics. Young field- first psych lab c. 1879. At the beginning of 1900"s psychology was inside the philosophy dept. Around the 1940"s it began to grow- as a product of more relevant research. (making judgements whether people were appropriate to be soldiers, The number of articles published by the profession has increased greatly over time. Psychology asks questions addressed by philosophy (recently venturing further away from philosophy) Methods have been developed by physical and biological sciences. Has now evolved to what we call cognitive psychology. Has now evolved into basically evolutionary psychology.
