Document Summary

Species: a genetically independent group that reproduces naturally in the wild. Adaptations: help organisms survive and reproduce better in the environment. The original thing that happened was chemical evolution 4 bya. 3. 8 bya: these molecules became enclosed in a compartment and formed cells: these early cells were referred to as prokaryotes , prokaryote: a unicellular (one-cell being) The ozone layer is now created because of this. This layer accumulates in the upper atmosphere and this will protect the land and terrestrial life from the uv rays. Some of the smaller prokaryotes are engulfed or taken in by larger cells and this led to the creation of organelles and eukaryotic life. Engulfed: larger cell wraps its membrane around a smaller cell and pulls it in: this is the early evolution of organelles. Cells have become more specialized and become capable of being multicellular life forms. Unicellular: only one cell composes that life.
