Where you are in an altered state of consciousness. People use a holistic language to talk about it. Holistic--the belief that things are linked and interconnected. Stories tend to be a key to drawing people into this thought process. It depends on the story cautionary tales, informative stories, survival stories, fables (ethics and getting along with others), memories, creative stories (fictions for pleasure and fun). Example: greenwood"s grandfather told her stories about horses and it guided her outlook on horses all her life, into adulthood; when she sees horses, they trigger a bunch of memories. The ability to visualize stories is important The belief that someone has a soul will make someone a dualist. Bodily rhythms (morning person vs. night owls) Blocking out senses (listening to music to focus or to pump someone up) The ability to associated images and ideas. Personal experiences may change reactions to things. Harry potter and the snakes involved in the stories.
