Approximately 1 in 7 deaths in the course of all history have been attributed to tb. Tb, aids, and malaria are three of the most important diseases of all time. Egyptians: tb dna has been extracted from the mummies, meaning that tb had existed for a very very long time. Tb is aka phthisis or consumption: a wasting disease. Early phases: lethargy, fatigue (from coughing), weight loss, then trouble breathing->cough. As it progresses the infected person will cough up lots and lots of blood as their lungs become more and more infected with the disease. The infected will ultimately die of a ridiculous cough} Tb is associated with filth and congestion of cities: because there were large tb outbreaks in cities where people constantly stayed close/near to each other, working in confined areas: factories. There is an association between art and tb because tb has existed for so long.
