Vector-borne disease discovery: dengue virus 1902, tsetse fly transmission 1903, black flies (river blindness***, viral encephalitides, lyme disease. History of medicine tracks history of malaria. Types of fever: tertian (concerning 3rds)- cycles of the 3rd day occurring every 48 hours. Symptoms: headache, chills, sweating, back pain, systematic fever, enlargement of spleen.
