Many countries in the middle east, europe and japan were not self-sufficient. December 8th, 1941 u. s enters world war ii. U. s was the first colony to revolt against colonial powers and do it successfully. U. s has the view of imperial order for europe but did not want to be an imperial power. Roosevelt"s position the u. s. must be engaged in the reconstruction of the liberal world order. The u. s. must create an indirect form of control (cannot be an imperial power). Political hegemony is exercised through the un in 1944.
